Terry McLaurin will miss Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts after suffering a hamstring injury during Friday's practice session.
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin will not play in Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a hamstring injury sustained during Friday's practice. According to ESPN's John Keim, McLaurin was officially declared inactive after initially being listed as questionable. While team sources expressed optimism regarding his status on Friday, that outlook shifted by Saturday afternoon.
McLaurin currently leads Washington with 141 receiving yards this season. In last week's 33-31 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, he recorded six receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown. His absence follows a 2025 campaign where a quad injury sidelined him for seven games. The Commanders will also be without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was ruled out Friday with a dislocated left elbow.
Marcus Mariota will start at quarterback in place of Daniels. Mariota and McLaurin have established a connection totaling 38 passes for 601 yards and five touchdowns across nine games together. With the primary receiver sidelined, Washington may increase the workload for rookie Antonio Williams. Dyami Brown and Trey Burks are expected to fill the X receiver role, while Stefon Diggs—who leads the team with 13 catches and three touchdowns—remains available at the flanker position.
In addition to the absences, Washington returns tight end Chig Okonkwo to the lineup. Okonkwo missed the previous two contests because of a hamstring issue. The team is currently expressing optimism that Jayden Daniels could return for the Week 6 game against the New York Giants.
