Townsend and Siniakova Complete Career Grand Slam With US Open Victory

Top seeds Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova secured their first US Open doubles title together with a 5-7, 6-0, 6-2 win at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova captured the 2026 US Open women’s doubles championship on Friday, defeating wild card opponents Ashlyn Krueger and Robin Montgomery 5-7, 6-0, 6-2. After losing the opening three games and the first set at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the top-seeded duo rebounded to win 12 of the final 14 games. This victory marks their first US Open title as a pair and completes their career Grand Slam as a team.

The championship is the fourth major title for the 30-year-old Townsend, following her 2024 Wimbledon win and 2025 titles at the Australian Open and French Open alongside Siniakova. For Siniakova, the result represents her 12th career Grand Slam doubles trophy. She previously earned seven majors with Barbora Krejcikova and one with Coco Gauff. The win served as retribution for Townsend and Siniakova, who were runners-up in the same tournament last year to Erin Routliffe and Gabriela Dabrowski.

Krueger and Montgomery entered the final ranked 570th and 610th in doubles, respectively. The American wild card pair reached the title match by defeating the defending champions, Routliffe and Dabrowski, in separate matches during the quarterfinals and semifinals. Despite their early lead in the final, they were unable to maintain momentum against the world's two top-ranked doubles players during the final two sets.
