Travis Hunter recorded four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown while intercepting C.J. Stroud in the Jaguars' 34-31 defeat against the Texans.
The Houston Texans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-31 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, despite a historic performance from Travis Hunter. The Jaguars standout became the first NFL player since Brian Dawkins in 2002 to record both an interception and a receiving touchdown in a single game. Hunter is only the fourth player to achieve this feat since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger.
Hunter finished the contest with four receptions for 59 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown catch with 11:26 remaining that brought Jacksonville within three points. On the ensuing Texans drive, Hunter intercepted a C.J. Stroud pass intended for Xavier Hutchinson in the end zone. That turnover led to a 60-yard game-tying field goal by Cam Little with 1:55 left on the clock. Defensively, Hunter allowed only two catches for 5 yards across 34 coverage snaps, including 16 snaps against Nico Collins.
Jacksonville head coach Liam Coen utilized Hunter for a season-high nine offensive snaps. This increased role coincided with the benching of Brian Thomas Jr., who played zero snaps in the second half after recording a drop in the first quarter. Hunter previously recorded a 100-yard receiving game against the Los Angeles Rams last season, which was also the site of his only other career touchdown catch prior to Sunday. The Jaguars (4-2) now enter a bye week, while the Texans improve to 2-4.
