Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer Recalled to England Squad for Nations League

Thomas Tuchel has named 10 players who missed the World Cup, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer, in his latest 27-man England roster.

England manager Thomas Tuchel has named a 27-player squad for four upcoming Nations League fixtures, headlined by the return of Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer. The roster includes 10 players who were not part of the squad that finished third at the 2026 World Cup. Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott earns his first senior call-up, joining other new faces such as Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele, Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, and Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha.

The squad will compete in four matches over 11 days, starting against Spain at Wembley Stadium. England then travels for away fixtures against Czechia in Prague and Croatia in Rijeka before returning to Wembley for a second meeting with Czechia. While Tino Livramento and Trevoh Chalobah are both included, several World Cup veterans miss out. John Stones, Dean Henderson, Jordan Henderson, Dan Burn, and Djed Spence are sidelined by injury, while Reece James remains out after missing Chelsea training on Thursday.

Tuchel made selection calls to omit Ollie Watkins, Noni Madueke, and Ivan Toney. Phil Foden, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Harry Maguire were also left out of the group. Ben White was considered for selection but is unavailable due to injury. The attacking unit features captain Harry Kane, Leeds United’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Barcelona’s Anthony Gordon, while the midfield includes uncapped Arsenal teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly alongside regulars Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice.
