New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The injury occurred in the second quarter at the end of an 11-yard run when Henderson was tackled by safety Jeremy Chinn along the sideline. While the second-year back will not require surgery, this marks his second ankle-related absence of the season after missing the opener last month.

Through four games this year, Henderson has recorded 163 yards and one touchdown on 42 carries. In his absence on Sunday, Rhamondre Stevenson led the backfield with 64 yards and a touchdown on 13 attempts, while Corey Kiner added 52 yards on six carries despite losing a fumble.

To address the roster vacancy for the upcoming game against the New York Jets, the Patriots (3-2) are expected to elevate Lan Larison from the practice squad. Larison, an undrafted free agent out of UC-Davis, previously appeared in the 2026 season opener where he caught two passes for nine yards across three offensive snaps and six special teams plays. New England is currently hoping for a relatively quick return for Henderson to a backfield that has relied on Stevenson as the primary starter.
