FIFA confirmed the first Women's Club World Cup will take place in the United States from January 5-30, 2028.

The inaugural Women's Club World Cup will be held in the United States from January 5 to January 30, 2028, FIFA announced on Thursday. The 19-team tournament features a slot allocation granting six spots to UEFA, three each to the AFC, CAF, Concacaf, and CONMEBOL, and one to the OFC. Seven clubs have already secured qualification: Gotham FC (USA), Arsenal (England), Barcelona (Spain), SC Corinthians (Brazil), Club América (Mexico), Naegohyang Women's FC (North Korea), and Wuhan Jiangda WFC (China).

Qualification for remaining spots will be determined by club rankings and continental championships held between 2024 and 2027. While FIFA has not confirmed specific host cities, reports indicate Los Angeles and San Diego are under consideration. The tournament follows other major FIFA events in the U.S., including the 2025 Men's Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup.

Separately, FIFA's Bureau of the Council approved $2.5 million in preparation funding for each member association participating in the 2027 Women's World Cup. This figure matches the amount allocated for the 2026 Men's World Cup and represents an increase from the $960,000 provided per team in 2023. FIFA also stated that surplus funds from the 2027 event will include a specific amount ring-fenced for players, who are promised service levels equal to their male counterparts.
