Odell Beckham Jr. joins the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad after failing to record a catch in three games with the New York Giants.
The Minnesota Vikings announced the signing of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Jeshaun Jones to their practice squad on Wednesday. Beckham joins the 4-0 Vikings one week after his release from the New York Giants, where he played 19 snaps across three games without recording a reception. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported the move involving the 33-year-old veteran.
Minnesota's roster move follows a Week 3 left ankle sprain to star receiver Justin Jefferson, who missed Week 4 and is considered questionable for Week 5. The Vikings offense currently ranks among the league's worst despite their undefeated record. Veteran Jauan Jennings, signed previously as the No. 3 option, has produced two catches for nine yards on four targets in three active games.
Beckham reunites with head coach Kevin O'Connell, with whom he won Super Bowl LVI as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. He also previously played under Vikings assistant head coach Frank Smith during a 2024 stint with the Miami Dolphins, where he caught nine passes for 54 yards. A former No. 12 overall pick in 2014, Beckham holds career totals of 575 catches, 7,987 yards, and 59 touchdowns across tenures with the Giants, Rams, Dolphins, and Baltimore Ravens.
