Aaron Jones Sr. is day-to-day following a fourth-quarter hit to his left leg during the Vikings' 16-10 victory against the Colts.

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. avoided a serious knee injury during Sunday's 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts and is now considered day-to-day, coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed Monday. Jones exited the contest after a 17-yard run with 12:22 remaining in the fourth quarter, where he took a hit to his left leg from safety A.J. Haulcy. Before the exit, Jones recorded 26 yards on eight carries.

Jordan Mason led the Minnesota backfield with 68 yards on 15 carries after returning from a fractured thumb. Jones has played through much of the current season with a sprained MCL in his left knee, serving as the primary starter for four games during Mason's absence. Despite ongoing trade rumors involving veteran running backs, O'Connell stated the team does not currently anticipate a need to add depth at the position before their upcoming game against the Detroit Lions.

General manager Nolan Teasley and O'Connell are scheduled to meet this week, though the coach noted that the current roster situation is not viewed as a depth issue. The Vikings also have veteran DeeJay Dallas and rookie Demond Claiborne on the roster, though Claiborne has been inactive for both games in which Jones and Mason were both available. To date, Dallas and Claiborne have combined for a total of nine carries this season.
