Brandin Podziemski agreed to a five-year, $110 million extension that includes a $25 million mutual option in the final season.

Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski has agreed to a five-year, $110 million contract extension, according to his agent Bill Duffy via ESPN's Shams Charania. The fully guaranteed deal includes a trade kicker and a unique mutual option for the 2031-32 season that allows both parties to opt in, but prevents either side from opting out. Podziemski will earn $5.6 million during the current 2026-27 season before his salary increases to $18.9 million in the first year of the new agreement.

The extension structure utilizes maximum raises, with annual salaries set at $18.9 million, $20.4 million, $22 million, $23.5 million, and a final $25 million option year. By securing this deal now, the Warriors avoid restricted free agency for the 23-year-old guard next summer. The first-year salary of $18.9 million is $1.9 million higher than his projected $17 million cap hold, yet general manager Mike Dunleavy reportedly prioritized this figure to maintain 2027-28 cap flexibility.

Podziemski enters his fourth NBA season as the starting shooting guard alongside Stephen Curry. Last season, he was one of 18 players to appear in all 82 games, averaging career highs of 13.8 points per game, assists, and steals. The former 19th overall pick in the 2023 draft has averaged over five rebounds per game in each of his three professional seasons and ranks among the top three in the league for charges drawn since his debut.

Golden State currently faces roster depth challenges as Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody recover from serious knee injuries, while Kristaps Porzingis remains out indefinitely. Despite these absences, Podziemski’s durability remains a key asset; he led the team in plus-minus as a rookie at +264 and followed that with a +261 mark in his second year, trailing only Curry and Draymond Green.
