Zyhir Hope and Arjun Nimmala Lead 86 Ranked MLB Trade Deadline Prospects

Detroit acquired top-ranked prospect Zyhir Hope from the Dodgers in the Tarik Skubal trade, while the Angels landed Arjun Nimmala from Toronto.

The 2026 MLB trade deadline concluded at 6 p.m. ET on Monday, resulting in 86 notable prospects changing organizations. Zyhir Hope, a right fielder acquired by the Detroit Tigers from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Tarik Skubal deal, earned the top spot in the 50 Future Value (FV) tier. Hope improved his in-zone contact from a 40-grade level last year to a .250 MLB average equivalent this season. Despite a slight decrease in raw power and chase rate, he maintains plus in-game power and a plus arm. Evaluators project Hope for a late 2027 debut with a 3-plus-win upside, placing him in the middle of a top 100 prospects list.

Arjun Nimmala ranks second after moving from the Blue Jays to the Los Angeles Angels in the Jose Soriano trade. The shortstop possesses 60- to 65-grade raw power projection and saw a spike in exit velocities this year. While Nimmala is an average runner and a functional defensive shortstop, he is currently working to improve a launch angle that prevents him from fully utilizing his power in games. He sits within 10 spots of Hope on the overall top 100 ranking.

High-Impact Infielders and Pitching Depth

Jefferson Rojas occupies the third slot following his move to the New York Mets from the Chicago Cubs in a deal involving Clay Holmes and Tyrone Taylor. Rojas increased his swing loft and pop this season, though his contact rate dropped and chase rate rose. He projects as an above-average hitter capable of 20 home runs while playing shortstop. Like Hope, Rojas is tracking toward a late 2027 arrival in the major leagues.

The Baltimore Orioles bolstered their system by acquiring three prospects from the Boston Red Sox for Adley Rutschman. Right-hander Anthony Eyanson leads this group at fourth overall. Eyanson, a third-round pick who signed for an overslot $1.75 million bonus, features a four-pitch mix and deception. His velocity spiked in professional ball, touching the upper 90s. He is projected as a No. 3-type starter with an ERA in the mid-to-upper 3s. Fellow Orioles acquisition Enddy Azocar ranks fifth; the teenage center fielder hit 18 home runs in 85 games with a nearly .900 OPS across two A-Ball levels this year.

Veteran Prospects and Pitching Tiers

River Ryan, sent to the Detroit Tigers by the Dodgers in the Skubal trade, is the oldest prospect on the list at nearly 28 years old. Despite having over a year of service time and four MLB appearances, injuries have limited his development. Ryan features plus pitches across his entire arsenal and Triple-A success this year. Detroit will maintain control of him through his age-31 season in 2030 if he remains healthy. He is graded as a low 50 FV, ranking in the 90-120 range overall.

At seventh, Ramon Marquez joined the San Francisco Giants from the Phillies in the Luis Arraez and Caleb Kilian trade. Marquez utilizes a plus-plus changeup to complement a fastball that reaches 98 mph. His 88-90 mph cutter/slider hybrid supports his projection as a No. 3 or No. 4 starter. Alexander Frias rounds out the 50 FV tier at eighth, moving from the Brewers to the St. Louis Cardinals in the JoJo Romero and Dustin May trade. Frias is noted for plus-plus bat speed and solid bat-to-ball skills as an 18-year-old.

Secondary Tiers and Notable Moves

In the 45+ FV tier, the Miami Marlins acquired third baseman Brayden Taylor from the Rays for Liam Hicks. Taylor is currently in his third Double-A season and projects for 15-20 annual home runs. Michael Forret returned to the Orioles from the Rays in the Tyler Wells deal, currently starting in Triple-A with a 93-95 mph fastball and a plus changeup.

Other significant moves include the San Francisco Giants acquiring Joniel Hernandez from San Diego for Robbie Ray and Henry Lalane from the Yankees for Heliot Ramos. The New York Mets added depth by landing Sammy Stafura from Pittsburgh for Luke Weaver and Gary Gill Hill from Tampa Bay for Freddy Peralta. The Washington Nationals received Jack Cebert and Ben Grable from the Yankees in the Luis Garcia Jr. trade, while the Angels added Jacob Cozart from Cleveland for Jo Adell.
