The Brewers entered the postseason following a franchise-record 103-win regular season, led by Jacob Misiorowski and Logan Henderson in the starting rotation. Brice Turang contributed 61 extra-base hits and 100 RBIs, while Jackson Chourio recorded a .917 OPS over the final two months. Despite finishing tied for 28th in home runs, Milwaukee ranked second in the majors in total runs scored.
The Los Angeles Dodgers received six votes to secure a three-peat as World Series champions. The Dodgers rotation features Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow. In the American League, the Tampa Bay Rays earned four championship votes. The Rays finished the season 55-26 at Tropicana Field and led the majors with only 409 walks allowed by their pitching staff.
In the Wild Card round, 18 of 24 experts picked the New York Yankees to defeat the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees' pitching staff recorded a 130 ERA+, supported by a rotation of Gerrit Cole, Max Fried, Cam Schlittler, and Carlos Rodon. The Atlanta Braves are favored by 18 voters to beat the Philadelphia Phillies, behind Game 1 starter Chris Sale. In other matchups, the San Diego Padres received 17 votes to advance past the Chicago Cubs, while the Chicago White Sox earned 13 votes to edge out the Houston Astros.
