Anthony Joshua revealed he is receiving training advice from Peter Fury ahead of his December 11 fight against Tyson Fury in Cardiff.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury faced off at a news conference on Wednesday ahead of their heavyweight bout scheduled for Dec. 11 in Cardiff. During the event, Joshua confirmed he is receiving training advice from Peter Fury, Tyson’s uncle and former trainer. Peter Fury previously coached Tyson to a world title victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. Joshua stated that the advice focuses on training approaches and personal improvements rather than specific scouting reports on his opponent.

Ben Davison has returned as Joshua’s predominant trainer for this camp after the pair previously worked together for fights against Otto Wallin, Francis Ngannou, and Daniel Dubois. Davison was also in Tyson Fury's corner for his first fight against Deontay Wilder. Joshua noted that he chose to work with Davison because of his ability to pinpoint specific elements to execute and exploit during a fight. This follows Joshua's recent training stint in Spain with Oleksandr Usyk’s team prior to his July bout against Kristian Prenga.

Tyson Fury dismissed the impact of Davison’s involvement, noting that he previously moved on from the trainer to work with SugarHill Steward. Fury referenced Joshua's recent knockout loss to Daniel Dubois as evidence against the effectiveness of the partnership. Joshua maintained that while he is open to external advice, he will ultimately rely on his own experience at this stage of his career.
