According to ESPN, this figure represents a €66 million increase over the previous financial year, making the Catalan side the second European club to surpass the billion-euro threshold after Real Madrid. Despite the record-breaking turnover, the Spanish champions reported a net loss of €18 million for the season.

Real Madrid previously became the first club to exceed the €1 billion mark during the 2023/24 season with €1.04 billion in income, later reaching €1.16 billion in 2024/25. The Deloitte Football Money League's most recent top five revenue earners also featured Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool. Barcelona officials stated these latest figures reflect an ongoing economic recovery process that balances revenue growth with sporting competitiveness.

The club projects further financial growth for the 2026/27 season, budgeting for a new revenue record of €1.19 billion. This forecast would be a €135 million improvement over the 2025/26 results. The Blaugrana expect to return to profitability in the coming year, anticipating a net profit of €1 million.
