Ben Brereton Díaz scored his first goal of the season to lead Sheffield United to a 1-0 victory over Wrexham at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United defeated Wrexham 1-0 at Bramall Lane in a Championship fixture decided by Ben Brereton Díaz’s first goal of the season. The Chile forward, currently in his third loan spell with the Blades, scored the match-winner in the first half by converting a rebound after Anthony Patterson parried a low shot from Jordan Ayew. The result marks Chris Wilder's side’s third win in five matches, moving them within one point of the top eight.

United controlled the early momentum as Sydie Peck forced a save from Patterson and Ayew missed narrowly off target. Wrexham’s first attempt did not arrive until the 24th minute when Lewis O'Brien struck a tame shot. Before the interval, United defender Liam Kitching prevented a scoring opportunity for Ollie Rathbone with a stoppage-time challenge.

In the second half, former Blades striker Kieffer Moore missed a chance for the visitors by firing over the crossbar. Wrexham substitute Danny Imray also missed a late opportunity at the far post during six minutes of added time, while Sam Smith saw a header saved by Michael Cooper. The defeat represents Wrexham's fourth league loss in their last seven outings.
