Milwaukee secured a 3-1 win in Game 4 to clinch the NLDS, aided by Garrett Mitchell's 406-foot home run robbery in the eighth inning.

The Milwaukee Brewers advanced to the National League Championship Series for the second consecutive season following a 3-1 victory over the San Diego Padres in Game 4. Center fielder Garrett Mitchell secured the win in the bottom of the eighth inning by robbing Manny Machado of a potential game-tying home run. The ball, hit off an Abner Uribe sinker, traveled 406 feet at 106.7 mph before Mitchell caught it at the Petco Park warning track. This victory snapped Milwaukee's 12-game postseason road losing streak, which had been tied for the longest in major league history.

Milwaukee took an early lead in the third inning when Sal Frelick singled, stole second, and scored on a Mitchell base hit. After Fernando Tatis Jr. tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the third, the Brewers regained the lead via a Mitchell triple and an RBI single by Jackson Chourio. The hit marked Chourio's 17th career postseason RBI, tying Andruw Jones for the most by a player under age 23. Frelick added a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to provide the final 3-1 margin.

Brewers starter Robert Gasser pitched four innings before the bullpen provided five no-hit innings of relief. Aaron Ashby threw three scoreless frames, followed by Uribe and Trevor Megill. The Brewers' offense did not record a strikeout through the first six innings of the contest. Milwaukee, which won 103 games during the regular season, now faces a rematch against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who swept them in last year's NLCS. The Brewers have lost seven consecutive playoff games against Los Angeles dating back to 2018.
