The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 on Thursday night to complete a sweep of the National League Championship Series. The loss officially ended the Dodgers' bid for a third consecutive World Series title. Despite a 428-foot home run by Shohei Ohtani in the second inning that gave Los Angeles an early 4-0 lead, Milwaukee responded with a comeback fueled by five walks and a go-ahead home run by Garrett Mitchell off reliever Tanner Scott.

Statistical disparities defined the series, as the Dodgers produced a .520 OPS, which was 272 points lower than the Brewers' mark. Los Angeles struggled in high-leverage situations, finishing 4-for-27 with runners in scoring position across the series. In the final game, the Dodgers failed to score despite recording a one-out double in the sixth, a leadoff double in the seventh, and a one-out triple in the eighth. Ohtani finished the postseason batting .192/.323/.308 while dealing with injuries to his left knee and right biceps.

Following the game, Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas announced his retirement to his teammates and coaches. The 100-win Dodgers, who had claimed their 13th division title in 14 years, now face an offseason of uncertainty involving a looming lockout and the free agency of pitcher Tarik Skubal. The Brewers' bullpen maintained the lead in the finale after Mitchell’s home run, preventing the Dodgers from reclaiming momentum.
