The Buffalo Bills defeated the Detroit Lions 41-31 on Thursday night at the new Highmark Stadium. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen accounted for five total touchdowns as Detroit fell to a 1-1 record. The Lions trailed 21-0 in the first half and entered the locker room at halftime down 27-10.

Detroit's defense has now surrendered at least 30 points in consecutive games to open the season, a mark the franchise has not reached since 2021. Through two contests, the Lions have allowed 63 first downs, tying the 1985 Indianapolis Colts for the second-most in NFL history during that span. All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell recorded six tackles and one QB hit in the loss, while edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson contributed three tackles, one sack, and two quarterback hits.

Head coach Dan Campbell noted the team is "figuring some stuff out" after the defense allowed 30 or more points for the fifth time in their last eight regular-season games. The Lions are scheduled to return home to face the New York Jets in Week 3.
