The Indianapolis Colts are open to trading star running back Jonathan Taylor and have already received an offer including a second-round pick.
The Indianapolis Colts are actively engaged in trade discussions regarding star running back Jonathan Taylor, sources told ESPN and NFL Network. Indianapolis has already received at least one trade offer featuring a second-round draft pick plus additional compensation for the three-time Pro Bowler. The team is reportedly seeking a package similar to the 2022 Christian McCaffrey trade, which yielded second, third, fourth, and fifth-round selections.
Multiple teams have expressed interest in the 27-year-old rusher, including the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks. Taylor remains under contract through 2028, with scheduled salaries of $15 million in 2027 and $9.46 million in 2028. He currently ranks as the second-leading rusher in franchise history with 8,185 yards and leads the team this season with 587 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
This development follows a week of significant roster turnover led by owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon and interim GM Ed Dodds. The Colts recently traded Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner for a collection of 2027 and 2028 draft picks. Additionally, the team is listening to offers for wide receiver Josh Downs, who requested a trade this past week and is valued by the organization at a third-round pick level. Both Taylor and Downs are expected to play in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars despite the ongoing negotiations.
