Floyd Samba Scores Brace as Manchester City Thrash Norwich 5-0

Teenager Floyd Samba scored two goals on his Manchester City debut during a 5-0 Carabao Cup victory against Norwich.

Manchester City advanced to the Carabao Cup fourth round following a 5-0 victory over Norwich on Thursday. Floyd Samba, a 17-year-old academy graduate, scored twice in his professional debut after starting in place of Erling Haaland. The teenager opened the scoring with a header just before the 30-minute mark and added a second goal with a curled strike following the halftime interval.

City manager Enzo Maresca made 10 changes to his starting lineup for the fixture, while Norwich boss Philippe Clement made nine. Despite the rotations, City converted five goals from six shots on target. New signing Allan Elias, who joined from Palmeiras for an initial £32 million last month, scored on his first appearance for the club. Rayan Cherki and youngster Ryan McAidoo also found the net, with Samba contributing to Cherki's goal during the match.

Samba, typically a midfielder, was deployed as a striker after training in the position for several days leading up to the game. The victory marks City's sixth consecutive win across all competitions. Following the result, Manchester City are scheduled to host Brighton in the next round of the tournament.
