The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night, moving within one win of the first championship in the team's 57-year history. Jackson Chourio, 22, became the first player his age to record four hits in a World Series game since 1946. Milwaukee's offense produced 16 total hits, including eight two-out runs during the fifth inning. Chourio ignited that rally with a base hit up the middle and later drove a double into the right-center-field gap to conclude the scoring burst.
Through the first three games of the series, Chourio has recorded eight hits. The Brewers previously won Game 1 by scoring early against Nick Martinez and took Game 2 after erasing a four-run deficit. Chourio’s postseason performance in 2026 includes a walk-off single against Mason Miller in the National League Division Series. Across 23 career postseason games over the last three years, he has maintained an .882 OPS, significantly higher than his .799 regular-season average from 2024 to 2026.
Chourio is the first player to achieve three consecutive seasons with at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases before turning 23. His statistical output in the 2025 National League Division Series included a .389/.421/.667 slash line. Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold, who signed Chourio out of Venezuela as a 16-year-old in 2021, noted the outfielder's development into a superstar as the team approaches a potential title clincher.
