Jackson Chourio hit a two-out, two-run single in the ninth inning to secure a 4-3 victory for the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 2 of the NLDS.

Jackson Chourio hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-3 victory over the San Diego Padres on Sunday. The hit came on a 101.3 mph four-seam fastball from Padres closer Mason Miller, which Chourio turned into a 109.5 mph line drive up the middle. The victory at Milwaukee gives the Brewers a 2-0 lead in the National League Division Series.

The Brewers entered the final frame trailing by one run before loading the bases against Miller. Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick both drew walks, with Yelich also stealing a base during the inning. Pinch-hitter Gary Sanchez loaded the bases by drawing a third walk on six pitches. With two outs and a full count, Chourio drove in Yelich and Frelick to end the game. Frelick secured the win with a headfirst slide into home plate.

Miller, who threw 40 pitches in the outing, took the loss after failing to convert the six-out save attempt. The Padres manager, Craig Stammen, noted that Miller struggled with the strike zone during the ninth. Prior to the final inning, the game featured five total errors and three unearned runs between both clubs.

With this performance, the 22-year-old Chourio became the third player in Brewers history to record a postseason walk-off hit, joining Mike Moustakas and Nyjer Morgan. Chourio now has 15 career playoff RBIs, trailing only Ryan Braun for the franchise record. The Brewers, who won a team-record 103 games during the regular season, are now one win away from advancing to the NLCS.
