Jacksonville Jaguars nose tackle DaVon Hamilton is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a torn quadriceps muscle during Sunday's 42-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. League sources informed NFL Network's Ian Rapoport of the diagnosis following the game at EverBank Stadium. Hamilton sustained the injury in the second quarter and required a cart to reach the locker room after being attended to by teammates on the field.
The fifth-year veteran is scheduled for further testing on Monday to confirm the extent of the damage. Through seven games this season, Hamilton recorded 16 tackles, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a half sack. Coach Liam Coen identified the nose tackle as the primary contributor to Jacksonville's top-ranked run defense.
Hamilton is currently playing in the final year of a three-year contract extension worth $34.5 million, which he signed in April 2023. While the team has not officially placed him on injured reserve, the reported tear typically ends a player's campaign. The Jaguars defense must now proceed without a player Coen described as a key leader for the defensive line unit.
