Jannik Sinner confirmed that Magnus Norman will join his coaching team next month following the conclusion of his partnership with Darren Cahill.
Jannik Sinner announced on Friday that coach Darren Cahill is leaving his team after a tenure that included five Grand Slam titles and the world No. 1 ranking. Magnus Norman, a former world No. 2 who previously coached Stan Wawrinka, has been hired to join Sinner’s staff starting next month. Norman will work alongside Simone Vagnozzi, who remains part of the coaching setup.
Cahill originally joined the Italian’s team in June 2022 and had planned to depart following the 2025 season. During their time together, Sinner reached the top of the ATP rankings, though Alexander Zverev took over the No. 1 spot this week. Sinner has been out of competition since July, when he defeated Zverev in the Wimbledon final.
The 25-year-old Sinner recently withdrew from the US Open due to a right knee injury and announced last month that his season is over. The coaching transition follows Sinner’s most successful career spell, during which he credited Cahill for his honesty and dedication. Cahill described his time with the team as a special honor, noting the trust and belief exchanged during their partnership.
