Jon Rahm finished 23-under par at Yas Links to win the Abu Dhabi Championship by two strokes over Tyrrell Hatton.
Jon Rahm secured his first European Tour title in four years on Sunday, finishing the Abu Dhabi Championship at 23-under par. Rahm posted a final-round 5-under 67 at Yas Links to finish two strokes ahead of Tyrrell Hatton (68) and four strokes clear of Rory McIlroy (69). The victory marks Rahm's first regular circuit win since the November 2022 World Tour Championship.
The final round featured a four-way tie at 20-under on the back nine between Rahm, McIlroy, Hatton, and Francesco Laporta. Rahm broke away by recording three birdies between the 11th and 15th holes. While McIlroy opened his round with a birdie and an eagle, a bogey at the 15th slowed his momentum. Laporta fell out of contention following a triple-bogey on the par-3 13th, and Hatton finished with a clean card but failed to close the gap. Rahm maintained a two-shot lead on the par-5 18th, where he settled for a par to seal the win.
With this result, McIlroy moved into second place in the Race to Dubai standings, overtaking Patrick Reed. He now trails leader Eugenio Chacarra by approximately 500 points heading into the season-ending World Tour Championship in Dubai. Chacarra finished tied for 22nd this week, while Reed finished tied for 43rd in the 70-player field. This tournament was Rahm's first competitive appearance in seven weeks, coinciding with the birth of his fourth child and his departure from the LIV Golf circuit.
