LeBron James finished with 10 points, five assists, and four rebounds in the first half of the Philadelphia 76ers' 114-108 preseason loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

LeBron James recorded 10 points, five assists, and four rebounds during 18 minutes of play in the Philadelphia 76ers' 114-108 preseason loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. Starting his NBA-record 24th season, the 41-year-old forward helped Philadelphia to a 58-56 halftime lead before sitting out the remainder of the contest. James did not convert a field goal on his lone official attempt but finished 8-for-8 from the free-throw line after being fouled four times.

Philadelphia debuted a new starting lineup featuring James and fellow newcomer Jaylen Brown alongside Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe. Maxey led the starters with 14 points, while the other four members of the opening unit each scored at least six points. During one sequence, James assisted an Embiid pass that led to a Brown dunk as the 76ers converted seven consecutive shots following an opening-possession miss.

James joined the 76ers this summer on a two-year deal for the league minimum following eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 76ers have two preseason games remaining against the Boston Celtics, who traded Brown to Philadelphia prior to James' signing. The team is scheduled to open the regular season on Oct. 20 against the New York Knicks.
