Real Madrid earned a 3-0 win over Racing Santander to move within three points of league leaders Barcelona.
Real Madrid secured a fourth consecutive La Liga victory with a 3-0 win over Racing Santander, ending the hosts' unbeaten home run. Jose Mourinho's side established a three-goal lead before the halftime whistle, following their previous week's win over Barcelona. The result moves Madrid within three points of the top of the table.
Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot after being tripped by Alvaro Mantilla. The strike marked Mbappé's fifth goal in three matches. Jude Bellingham doubled the advantage midway through the first half, latching onto an Arda Guler pass to round goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala and slot into an empty net. This was Bellingham's 50th goal for the club and his first since September.
Yan Diomande completed the scoring before the interval with a first-time strike from the edge of the area that entered the top-left corner. It was Diomande's third goal in four matches. Earlier in the half, Agirrezabala denied a point-blank Bellingham header following a cross from Guler.
Thibaut Courtois preserved the clean sheet by stopping a low strike from Iker Luque. In the second half, Yassir Zabiri missed two opportunities for Racing, while Mbappé hit the post after cutting inside. A penalty originally awarded to Racing for an Aurélien Tchouaméni handball was overturned following a VAR review.
