Pulisic Returns With Assist in AC Milan’s 2-2 Comeback Draw Against Lazio

Christian Pulisic provided an assist in his first appearance since the 2026 World Cup as AC Milan recovered from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 with Lazio.

AC Milan secured a 2-2 draw against Lazio on Saturday after trailing by two goals at halftime in Rome. Christian Pulisic, making his first appearance since the 2026 World Cup, entered the match as a halftime substitute alongside Yunus Musah and Diego Moreira. In the 65th minute, Pulisic delivered a deep cross to Moreira, who scored with a low volley to reduce the deficit.

Less than two minutes later, Milan equalized through Moreira’s second goal of the match. The summer signing drilled the ball into the net from the edge of the penalty area following a cross from Musah that was touched back by Adrien Rabiot. The result maintains Milan’s unbeaten start to the Serie A season under coach Ruben Amorim, moving their record to two wins and two draws through four games.

Pulisic’s contribution followed a period of inactivity where he was an unused substitute for the first three league matches. Amorim noted prior to the game that the United States forward was "upset" regarding his lack of minutes. The appearance also marked Pulisic's recovery from a bone bruise and microfracture in his lower leg sustained during the U.S. national team's 4-1 loss to Belgium in the World Cup round of 16.

Amorim criticized his team's first-half performance for a lack of energy and simple passing errors but credited the second-half turnaround. AC Milan is scheduled to begin its Europa League campaign at home against Benfica on Wednesday.
