PWHL Announces First All-Star Game for March 2027 in Toronto

The PWHL will host its first All-Star event on March 7, 2027, featuring a 3-on-3 tournament at Scotiabank Arena.

The PWHL will hold its inaugural All-Star event on March 7, 2027, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, according to a league announcement on Thursday. The showcase features a unique 3-on-3 tournament format involving four distinct teams: PWHL Canada, PWHL International, PWHL USA, and PWHL Rookies. Each roster will consist of 10 players, including six forwards, three defenders, and one goaltender.

Eligibility for the PWHL Rookies squad extends to all players currently in their first season with the league, regardless of their age. The tournament structure begins with an opening round robin, followed by a semifinal game to determine which side advances to face the top-ranked team in the PWHL All-Star Final.

Selection for the event will be determined through a combined voting process involving fans, players, and media members. League hockey operations will be responsible for selecting reserve players. This event returns the league to the city where it held its first-ever regular-season game between Toronto and New York in 2024. Jayna Hefford, PWHL executive vice president of hockey operations, stated that the 3-on-3 format is designed to create a fast-paced style of play to showcase both established stars and emerging talent.
