Defensive tackle Aaron Donald will miss the Rams' matchup against the Eagles with back soreness as wide receiver Puka Nacua returns from a two-game absence.
Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald will not play in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to back soreness. Head coach Sean McVay announced the decision Friday, noting that Donald experienced discomfort following the team’s Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos. Donald, who rejoined the team in late August after a brief retirement, has participated in 56% of defensive snaps through two games this season.
Wide receiver Puka Nacua will return to the lineup for the first time since injuring his hip during a September 17 practice. Nacua missed the previous two contests but enters Sunday without an injury designation. While McVay confirmed Nacua looked explosive during Thursday’s heavy workload practice, the team has not yet determined a specific snap count for his return. In the season opener, Nacua recorded five receptions for 74 yards.
The Rams also ruled out cornerback Jaylen Watson due to a shoulder injury and tight end Terrance Ferguson with an ankle issue. Tight end Colby Parkinson is currently listed as questionable with knee and shoulder injuries. McVay indicated that the decision to sit Donald was made in consultation with team doctor Reggie Scott to prevent further aggravation of the veteran's back condition.
