Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin is listed as day-to-day and will not travel to Montreal for Tuesday's game following an injury sustained against Florida.

Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin will miss Tuesday’s road game against the Montreal Canadiens due to an upper-body injury. The defenseman is considered day-to-day after exiting Monday’s 5-3 victory over the Florida Panthers during the second period. Head coach Lindy Ruff confirmed the blueliner would remain in Buffalo for treatment rather than traveling for the second half of the team's back-to-back schedule.

Dahlin sustained the injury while quarterbacking a power play, dropping to one knee after blocking a shot from the slot following a faceoff. Before his departure, he recorded his second goal of the season with a power-play marker late in the first period. The Sabres improved to a 3-3-3 record with the win, led by Noah Ostlund’s third-period power-play goal and Tage Thompson’s fourth tally of the year.

Both teams utilized two goaltenders during the contest. Buffalo starter Colten Ellis allowed two goals on nine shots before being replaced by Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who made 13 saves on 14 shots. For the Panthers, Jacob Markstrom surrendered two goals on nine shots in the opening frame; his replacement, Akira Schmid, stopped 18 of 21 attempts. Florida coach Paul Maurice attributed Markstrom’s exit to the goalie "tightening up" rather than a long-term injury concern. The result leaves Florida at 2-2-2, sitting sixth in the Atlantic Division behind fifth-place Buffalo.
