The Republic of Ireland defeated Israel 3-0 in a UEFA Nations League match on Sunday in Debrecen, Hungary. Troy Parrott opened the scoring in the 13th minute, followed by an Adam Idah goal three minutes later. Jack Moylan capped the scoring in the 25th minute, celebrating by kissing his black armband and team badge. The Irish squad wore the armbands and abstained from traditional pre-match handshakes with their opponents.

During the Israeli national anthem, Irish players stood with hands behind their backs while looking at the grass. Captain Dara O'Shea shook hands with the officiating crew but did not engage with Israel captain Manor Solomon. Reserve goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu boycotted the fixture, citing personal beliefs regarding the conflict in Gaza.

The match was held in an almost-empty stadium where a small group of Israeli fans attended. Although the Israeli soccer federation reportedly canceled tickets for Irish supporters on Saturday night, approximately 10 fans without team colors were seen celebrating the opening goal.
