Following a 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders, Saquon Barkley stated he received assurances he will not be dealt before the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
The Philadelphia Eagles fell to 2-6 on the season following a 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday night. Running back Saquon Barkley, who has been managing hamstring and back injuries, played 22 of 68 offensive snaps in the defeat. He finished the contest with 14 touches for 54 yards and scored one touchdown.
Barkley told reporters after the game that the Eagles front office assured him he will remain with the club beyond the Nov. 10 trade deadline. The running back expressed a desire to help the team "fix it" as they endure a six-game losing streak. Philadelphia has one game remaining before the deadline, a home matchup against the New York Giants next Sunday.
General manager Howie Roseman has already functioned as a seller this season, trading offensive lineman Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens. In exchange, the Eagles received a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round selection. Despite that move and ongoing social media speculation, Barkley stated he is focused on being a leader for the organization.
