The Philadelphia Eagles have informed teams they will not trade Saquon Barkley before the November deadline despite a 2-5 start to the season.

Saquon Barkley will remain with the Philadelphia Eagles through the upcoming trade deadline, according to sources who spoke with NFL Network. Despite a 2-5 record and a roster hampered by injuries to quarterback Jalen Hurts, General Manager Howie Roseman has informed other franchises that the 29-year-old running back is not available for acquisition. Barkley currently has two years and approximately $35 million left on his contract.

While the Eagles are surveying the market for future draft-pick compensation, the organization views Barkley as a core component for the 2027 season and beyond. This stance leaves Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts as the primary top-tier running back available before the Nov. 10 cutoff. Philadelphia may still act as a buyer if Roseman identifies players who fit the team's long-term trajectory.

Barkley is expected to play Sunday night against the Washington Commanders. He participated in a limited practice session on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday due to a back injury. The ailment flared up during a loss to the Dallas Cowboys, in which Barkley was limited to 10 snaps while compensating for a pre-existing hamstring issue. Although the two-time Pro Bowler admitted he is not 100%, he told reporters on Friday that he intends to play if given the opportunity.
