Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua missed Monday's game with groin soreness, and his availability for Sunday Night Football remains uncertain.
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed that wide receiver Puka Nacua is dealing with groin soreness, though the team does not view the issue as a long-term threat. Nacua did not play Monday night after being listed on the injury report with a hip ailment. McVay clarified that while the receiver is experiencing sensations similar to a pre-hernia, he does not actually have a hernia.
The Rams estimated that Nacua would have been a non-participant during Wednesday's walk-through session. According to ESPN, the team will monitor his status for Thursday's practice to determine if he can play against the Denver Broncos in Week 3. McVay noted that this current issue is unrelated to the psoas injury that sidelined the receiver during August.
During the Rams' season opener, Nacua recorded five receptions for 74 yards on nine targets. The team intends to prioritize his full return to performance over having him play through the discomfort. Los Angeles is scheduled to face Denver on Sunday Night Football, but Nacua's participation remains unconfirmed as the team chooses to err on the side of caution to allow for healing.
