Shohei Ohtani Sets Record as Four-Time Consecutive MLB Jersey Sales Leader

Shohei Ohtani is the first player to lead Major League Baseball in jersey sales for four straight seasons, according to data released by MLB and MLB Players, Inc.

Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers has become the first player to lead Major League Baseball in jersey sales at the end of four consecutive seasons since figures were first tracked in 2010. According to data released Friday by MLB and MLB Players, Inc., Ohtani headlined a list of 20 players based on sales from Fanatics’ sites, including MLBShop.com, since Opening Day.

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge finished second in sales for the second year in a row, following third-place finishes in both 2023 and 2024. Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs rose to third place from his 16th-place ranking at the end of last season, while Atlanta’s Ronald Acuna Jr. climbed to fourth from 11th last year. San Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr. rounded out the top five.

The Dodgers accounted for four players in the top 20, including Freddie Freeman in sixth, Mookie Betts in eighth, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in ninth. Yamamoto and Ohtani were joined by Chicago White Sox player Munetaka Murakami, who ranked 20th, to mark the first time three Japanese players appeared in the top 20 simultaneously.

Other notable rankings included Philadelphia’s Bryce Harper in seventh and the New York Mets’ Juan Soto in 10th. The remainder of the list featured Corey Seager (11th), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (12th), Adley Rutschman (13th), Kyle Schwarber (14th), Paul Skenes (15th), Cal Raleigh (16th), Elly De La Cruz (17th), Jackson Merrill (18th), and Nolan Arenado (19th).
