SoFi Cup Playoffs: No. 1 Boston Common and Defending Champion Atlanta Drive Tee Off

The SoFi Cup playoffs begin Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ET as Atlanta Drive GC faces Los Angeles Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens.

The 2026 SoFi Cup playoffs commence Tuesday, March 17, at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, featuring a semifinal doubleheader on ESPN and ESPN+. No. 3 seed Atlanta Drive GC begins its title defense at 6:30 p.m. ET against the second-seeded Los Angeles Golf Club, a rematch of a regular-season finale that the California-based squad won 7-3. The second semifinal follows at 9 p.m. ET, pitting the top-ranked Boston Common against Jupiter Links Golf Club. Winners of these single-elimination matches advance to a best-of-three finals series scheduled for March 23 and 24.

Atlanta Drive GC vs. Los Angeles Matchup Details

The defending champions enter the postseason seeking to replicate their 2025 inaugural season victory with a lineup featuring Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, and Chris Gotterup. Cantlay, nicknamed "Patty Ice," posted a 3-0-3 record during the previous playoffs, contributing five points in singles play. Horschel secured the 2025 trophy by sinking an 18-foot putt following a Hammer throw in the second finals match against New York. However, the roster is missing Justin Thomas, who is recovering from back surgery after a T-8 finish at the Players Championship, and veteran Lucas Glover.

LAGC counters with Justin Rose, Sahith Theegala, and Tommy Fleetwood. During their four-point victory over Atlanta in the regular-season finale, the Los Angeles roster averaged 319 yards off the tee, outdriving their opponents by 20 yards. The singles pairings for Tuesday include Cantlay vs. Rose, Horschel vs. Theegala, and Gotterup vs. Fleetwood. Gotterup, appearing as an alternate for the fifth time, leads the league with five singles matches won and has secured PGA Tour victories this season at the Sony Open and WM Phoenix Open.

Boston Common Seeks Worst-to-First Completion

After finishing the inaugural season without a win, Boston enters the 2026 postseason as the No. 1 seed. The team leads TGL in driving accuracy at 74%, driving distance with a 325.4-yard average, and greens in regulation at 70.7%. They also pace the league in scrambling at 68.6%, triples holes won with 19, and triples points with 21. Rory McIlroy, who set a league record with a 392.3-yard average against Jupiter, leads a lineup that includes Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott. McIlroy’s status was previously uncertain due to a back injury, though he recently completed 72 holes at TPC Sawgrass to finish T-46 at even par.

Jupiter Links will compete without 15-time major winner Tiger Woods and analyst Kevin Kisner. Woods is recovering from back surgery but is expected to attend the venue in person. The Jupiter lineup consists of Max Homa, Akshay Bhatia, and Tom Kim. The singles matches feature Homa vs. McIlroy, Bhatia vs. Bradley, and Kim vs. Scott. In their March 1 meeting, Boston won 7-6 in overtime after Hideki Matsuyama missed an 8-foot putt on the 14th hole that would have ended the match in regulation. Tom Kim forced that extra period with a birdie on the final hole before the Common won the closest-to-the-pin tiebreaker.

Statistical Performance and Championship Schedule

Atlanta holds a statistical edge in individual play, leading TGL with 11 singles holes won and ranking second with 14 singles points. Despite this, the Los Angeles franchise reached the postseason by winning its final two regular-season matches after a semifinal exit last year. Keegan Bradley emphasized the significance of the top seeding, noting the team's improvement from their winless debut campaign. Tom Kim noted that Jupiter feels competitive despite the previous overtime loss, citing specific breaks that favored the opposition in their last encounter.

The finals series begins March 23 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The second match is set for March 24 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, with a third match scheduled for 9 p.m. ET that same night if necessary to determine the champion. All postseason contests are hosted at the same Florida facility.
