Lamar Jackson has a realistic chance to play Sunday against Cleveland after a sprained left ankle sidelined him for Baltimore's Week 5 win.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has a realistic chance to return for Sunday's Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jackson missed the team's Week 5 victory over the Atlanta Falcons due to a sprained left ankle suffered during a Week 4 win against the Tennessee Titans. The two-time NFL MVP, who left the stadium in a walking boot after that Week 4 contest, did not play in the second half of that game.
In Jackson's absence, Tyler "Snoop" Huntley led Baltimore to a 30-23 overtime win against the Falcons. Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-tying pass to Devontez Walker with 40 seconds left in regulation. Huntley also secured the victory with a 1-yard rushing touchdown in overtime, finishing the night with 20 rushing yards on six carries.
Jackson’s potential return impacts a Ravens offense that averages 28.4 points per game with him as the starter. While Baltimore holds a 79-32 record when Jackson starts, the team is 7-11 without him since the beginning of the 2019 season. Coach Jesse Minter previously indicated that the quarterback was working toward a quick return despite the injury.
