Stephen Curry scored 31 points to lead the Warriors to a 112-95 victory over the Lakers after trailing by 25 points in the second quarter.

Stephen Curry scored 31 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 112-95 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. Trailing 38-15 at the end of the first quarter and by as many as 25 points early in the second, Golden State became the first team in 30 seasons to overcome a 25-point deficit and win by at least 17. The 23-point margin at the end of the first quarter was the largest such deficit overcome to be tied or leading by halftime in the shot clock era.

Luka Doncic powered the Lakers early with 21 points and five assists in the opening period, finishing the game with 37 points and a plus-9 rating. The Warriors responded with a 38-15 second-quarter run, aided by 27 combined bench points from Georges Niang and De'Anthony Melton. Brandin Podziemski contributed 21 points and six assists for Golden State, while rookie Yaxel Lendeborg struggled, recording six points, six fouls, and five turnovers.

Curry secured the lead with eight points in the third quarter and nine in the fourth. A pivotal moment occurred with 6:27 remaining in the third when Curry used a dribble combination to drop Doncic to the floor on the left wing before making a 3-pointer. The win brings the Warriors to a 3-3 record following an 0-3 start to the season. Golden State is scheduled to play the LA Clippers on Sunday night.
