Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson announced he is 'ready to go' for Sunday's matchup against the Steelers after missing Week 1 with a right ankle injury.

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson announced Thursday he is ready for Sunday’s home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Henderson missed the team's 13-10 season-opening loss to the Seattle Seahawks due to a right ankle injury sustained during practice on Aug. 24. According to ESPN, Henderson returned to practice this week and was a full participant in Wednesday’s session.

The second-year back looks to bolster a backfield that relied heavily on Rhamondre Stevenson in Week 1, who played 60 of 71 offensive snaps. During his 2025 rookie campaign, Henderson appeared in all 17 regular-season games, recording 180 carries for 911 yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He also contributed in the passing game with 35 receptions for 221 yards and one score.

Henderson noted that his ankle responded well to recent activity after being sidelined for the opener. His return provides a change-of-pace option for the New England offense as they seek their first win of the season following a competitive matchup against Seattle.
