Seranthony Dominguez, 31, moves to Seattle after making 42 appearances for Chicago this season, where he went 4-3 with a 4.10 ERA and 12 saves. Dominguez is currently signed through 2027 under a two-year, $20 million contract inked prior to the start of this season. His salary helps offset the significant financial commitment Chicago is assuming with Castillo’s contract. Joining Dominguez is 28-year-old outfielder Nolan Jones, who has spent the entirety of the current season at the Triple-A level following previous stints within the Cleveland and Colorado organizations.

The Mariners also receive 23-year-old Boston Smith, who was ranked as the number 15 prospect in the White Sox system.
