Detroit Lions defensive back Avonte Maddox was ruled out of Thursday's game in Buffalo after suffering a foot injury in the second quarter.

Detroit Lions defensive back Avonte Maddox was ruled out for the remainder of Thursday night's game at Orchard Park after suffering a foot injury during the second quarter. The Lions trailed the Buffalo Bills 27-10 at halftime following the departure of the veteran defender, who was eventually carted to the locker room for further evaluation.

The Avonte Maddox foot injury occurred in the end zone during a collision with teammate Chuck Clark. Although Maddox initially limped off the field alongside team trainers, he was unable to return to the contest. This exit further thinned a Detroit secondary already missing star safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph, both of whom are currently on the reserve/PUP list and ineligible to play for at least the first four games of the season, according to ESPN.
