Brady Tkachuk scored three straight goals in 11:12 of game time to secure a 3-2 overtime win for Florida against Vancouver.
Brady Tkachuk scored three consecutive goals to lead the Florida Panthers to a 3-2 come-from-behind overtime victory against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. Tkachuk fueled the rally by scoring with 8:49 remaining in regulation and tying the game with 12.8 seconds left. He secured the win with a goal 2:23 into the overtime period, completing his second hat trick in as many games. Defenseman Seth Jones provided two assists on Thursday following a one-assist performance in Florida's previous outing.
This performance marks the third natural hat trick in NHL history achieved in back-to-back games, joining Cy Denneny (1923) and Petri Skriko (1986). Tkachuk is now the third player in Panthers franchise history to record three goals in consecutive games, following Pavel Bure and Noel Acciari. His six goals over the two-game span surpassed the career bests of his father, Keith Tkachuk, who peaked at five goals in two games, and his brother Matthew, who has never exceeded four goals in such a stretch.
The scoring streak began during Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, where Tkachuk netted three goals in a span of 8:03 during the second period. Thursday's three-goal blitz occurred over 11:12 of play. Tkachuk, who was acquired from the Ottawa Senators this offseason for four draft picks, entered the week with zero goals through his first six games of the season.
