Brice Turang homered off Tarik Skubal and the Milwaukee bullpen allowed just two hits over the final 4.1 innings to secure a 2-1 win.

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 on Sunday night at American Family Field to take a 1-0 lead in the National League Championship Series. Brice Turang sparked the offense with a leadoff home run in the fourth inning off Tarik Skubal, and rookie Luis Lara provided the winning margin with a fifth-inning RBI single into center field. The victory snapped a seven-game postseason losing streak for Milwaukee against Los Angeles.

Milwaukee’s bullpen combined to throw 4.1 innings of two-hit relief after starter Jacob Misiorowski exited in the fifth. DL Hall entered with a runner on and induced a double play from Freddie Freeman to end the fifth-inning threat. Abner Uribe struck out Andy Pages to strand two runners in the sixth, and Aaron Ashby followed with two scoreless frames. Trevor Megill earned the save by recording the final three outs, despite walking Kyle Tucker and Josue De Paula in the ninth before Mookie Betts flied out to the warning track.

The Dodgers finished 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and grounded into three double plays. Their lone run came in the second inning when Andy Pages hit an RBI single to score Shohei Ohtani. Los Angeles starter Tarik Skubal took the loss, allowing two runs across five innings. The Dodgers stranded nine runners total, dropping their collective postseason batting average with runners in scoring position to 2-for-22.

Game 2 is scheduled for Monday in Milwaukee. The Brewers will start right-hander Logan Henderson, who went 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA against Los Angeles during the regular season. The Dodgers will counter with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who holds a 2.14 ERA across 11 career postseason appearances.
