Caleb Williams accounted for four total touchdowns to lead the Chicago Bears to a 59-37 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. The quarterback completed 21 of 29 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushing scores. During his 29-yard touchdown run at the end of the first half, Williams reached a top speed of 20.8 mph. He also clocked 20.45 mph on his first rushing touchdown and 20.35 mph on a 9-yard scramble, marking the seventh time since the start of last season he has cleared the 20 mph threshold.

In Buffalo, the Bills defeated the Houston Texans 36-27, fueled by an explosive play rate of 21.2%. Tight end Dalton Kincaid recorded 130 receiving yards, the highest total for a Bills player at his position since 1967. Kincaid, returning from a 2024 PCL injury, played 76% of offensive snaps. Quarterback Josh Allen contributed to the win with a 21-yard touchdown scramble, while the offense produced nine completions of at least 16 yards.

Jacoby Brissett led the Arizona Cardinals to a 26-14 upset of the Los Angeles Chargers, finishing 27-for-37 for 277 yards and one touchdown. Brissett utilized in-breaking routes on 40.5% of his attempts and completed six of eight passes into tight windows. Conversely, Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell 33-27 to the Cincinnati Bengals. Mayfield set a career high by throwing 42.9% of his passes behind the line of scrimmage, though he utilized Bucky Irving for seven receptions.
