Arizona wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will be inactive for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions as the team finalizes a trade for the third-year player.

The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., sources told ESPN and NFL Network on Saturday. The team has informed Harrison he will be inactive for Sunday’s matchup against the Detroit Lions. Arizona initially sought first-round value for the wideout but was recently asking for a second-round choice and additional compensation.

Houston has been in talks with Arizona and is considered a primary contender to acquire Harrison. A move to the Texans would reunite the receiver with quarterback C.J. Stroud, his former college teammate. While the Indianapolis Colts are reportedly not involved in negotiations, Harrison hired agents Todd France and Tory Dandy on Sept. 23 to help facilitate a departure.

Harrison has recorded five catches on 12 targets for 85 yards and one touchdown through four games this season. His lone score occurred during a 36-24 loss to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. The 2024 No. 4 overall pick has totaled 1,578 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns across 33 career games with the Cardinals.

The wide receiver is due $4 million this year and $5.62 million next year, with a fifth-year option decision due this coming offseason. Arizona has already paid his $22.5 million signing bonus. Harrison’s production has dipped since his rookie season, where he caught 62 passes for 885 yards, partly due to foot injuries and appendicitis that limited him to 12 games last year.
