Baltimore has informed Derrick Henry they have no intention of trading him before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline.
League sources told ESPN that the Baltimore Ravens do not intend to trade running back Derrick Henry before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline. The organization recently informed the five-time Pro Bowler of their decision, despite the team falling to a 4-5 record following a 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. That defeat marked Baltimore's third consecutive loss by at least 20 points, a first in franchise history.
Speculation regarding a potential move followed season-ending surgery for quarterback Tyler "Snoop" Huntley and an injury to Lamar Jackson. While the New York Giants reportedly inquired about running back Justice Hill, Baltimore never considered dealing Henry. The Ravens are currently pursuing former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett to remain competitive until Jackson can return later this season.
During Thursday's loss, Henry moved into seventh place on the NFL's all-time career rushing list, surpassing Jerome Bettis and LaDainian Tomlinson. The 11-year veteran now has 13,707 career rushing yards, leaving him 394 yards behind Curtis Martin for sixth place. Henry stated after the game that he has not discussed a trade with management and remains focused on Baltimore's upcoming schedule, which includes a Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers followed by road games against the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans.
