Despite a plus-2.5 non-penalty xG difference, United has a minus-1 goal difference with four points from four games. Meanwhile, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa ranks last in adjusted goal differential—calculated as 70% non-penalty xG difference and 30% goal difference—despite Emery being the second-longest tenured coach in the division.
