Paris Saint-Germain leads the global power rankings after securing consecutive 4-2 league-phase wins over Manchester City and Barcelona.

Paris Saint-Germain occupies the top spot in ESPN’s global power rankings following consecutive 4-2 victories against Manchester City and Barcelona. The French club, which has won the Champions League two seasons in a row, currently leads Ligue 1 with 17 points and a 0.93 adjusted goal differential. Despite these results, the team must now navigate the remainder of the season without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Bayern Munich follows in second place, holding 17 points and a 2.42 adjusted goal differential. The German side recently played to a home draw against third-ranked Arsenal, a match missed by Michael Olise and Joshua Kimmich. Arsenal sits second in the Premier League with 21 points, having conceded only five goals across eight domestic matches.

Barcelona ranks fourth despite suffering back-to-back losses to PSG and Real Madrid, matches in which they conceded six goals and 5.75 expected goals (xG). Real Madrid holds the fifth position with 24 points, though manager Jose Mourinho’s side has recorded its lowest field tilt on record. Manchester City follows in sixth, conceding nearly 1.3 xG and over 10 shots per game, the highest defensive marks for the club in a decade.

In Italy, Inter Milan leads Serie A with 22 points and the top adjusted goal differential of 1.57. AS Roma, managed by Gianpiero Gasperini, ranks 11th after blowing a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 against Real Madrid. Juventus sits 14th, boasting the second-best defensive record in Europe's Big Five leagues by allowing only 4.35 expected goals through eight matches.
