Backup Jameis Winston, who signed a two-year, $13 million extension on Sept. 6, took over an offense that struggled without Dart’s mobility to counter interior pressure from Aaron Donald. Beyond the quarterback vacancy, the Giants are monitoring injuries to wide receiver Malik Nabers, left tackle Andrew Thomas, and edge rusher Brian Burns, all of whom exited Monday's contest. While Thomas and Burns are not believed to have serious ailments, Nabers is working back from a previous torn ACL and has had a slow start through two games.

In Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 2-0 start following his own reconstructive knee surgery. Mahomes completed 15-of-27 passes for 184 yards in a Week 1 victory over Denver before showing improved fluidity against Indianapolis in Week 2. Through two games, Mahomes has recorded five touchdown passes and four sacks. The Chiefs offense has leaned heavily on free-agent signing Kenneth Walker III, who has accumulated 56 touches, including 47 rushing attempts, across the first two weeks of the season. Undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson has started at left tackle in place of the injured Josh Simmons.

Elsewhere in the league, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield has seen Bucky Irving emerge as the primary rusher with 25 carries for 134 yards and one touchdown. In Carolina, Chuba Hubbard remains the lead back as rookie Jonathon Brooks deals with a new injury. The New England Patriots saw rookie TreVeyon Henderson record 16 carries for 76 yards and a score in his Sunday debut, while veteran Rhamondre Stevenson struggled with a fumble during the loss to Pittsburgh.
