Golden Knights Sign Captain Mark Stone to Two-Year, $18 Million Extension

Mark Stone signed a two-year extension with a $9 million annual value following a career-high 73-point season.

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone signed a two-year contract extension on Saturday valued at $18 million. The deal carries a $9 million annual average value and keeps the 34-year-old forward under contract through the 2028-29 season. Stone is set to earn $9.5 million during the current 2026-27 campaign, which marks the final year of his previous agreement.

The extension follows a season where Stone recorded a career-high 73 points, consisting of 28 goals and 45 assists. His performance helped lead Vegas to the Stanley Cup Final, where the team fell to the Carolina Hurricanes in six games. Stone has appeared in 400 career games for the Golden Knights, tallying 136 goals, 260 assists, and a +112 rating since being acquired via trade from Ottawa on Feb. 25, 2019.

Over a 15-year NHL career, Stone has accumulated 259 goals and 448 assists. Although injuries have impacted his availability, the captain has played at least 60 games in each of the last two seasons. He remains a central part of a Vegas roster that features Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner as the club pursues another deep postseason run.
